Substance Use Prevention, Education, Advocacy & Knowledge
SPEAK is a collaborative training and technical assistance network facilitated by Northeast Ohio Opioid Consortium. Our mission is to connect organizations across Northeast Ohio with leading local experts to expand knowledge, enhance skills, and improve service delivery on complex and emerging issues in polysubstance use and substance use disorder treatment and recovery. We serve as a centralized resource for organizations seeking customized, expert-led education to better address the challenges of substance use in our community.
The types of groups and organizations we hope to connect to this form of education include hospitals, clinics, social service agencies, nonprofits and more. We believe that any organization that has touchpoints with the substance use community may benefit from the expertise of the individuals and organizations willing to provide training and education on the specialized topics related to polysubstance and substance use.

An organization identifies a need for training and submits a brief interest form detailing their topic of interest, audience, and goals.
Our team reviews the request and connects the organization with the most appropriate expert or partner entity from our network.
The organization and the training partner coordinate directly to schedule and tailor the presentation, workshop, or technical assistance session to meet their specific needs.
Our network partners are equipped to present on a wide range of critical topics, available for both one-on-one and group presentations. Examples include (but not limited to):
- Harm Reduction Principles & Practices
