HealthComp Foundation Joins Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund
The HealthComp Foundation has joined the many organizations, families and individuals who have contributed to the Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund. The intent of the Fund is to coordinate the distribution of grant funds needed by nonprofit organizations serving on the frontlines of the pandemic in Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties.
More than 35 different funding partners have contributed to the Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund, which has currently raised more than $5.73 million that is being distributed, on a rolling basis, to nonprofit organizations that serve the following populations:
- People over 60 years of age, people with compromised immune systems, those who are pregnant and others with increased health risks associated with the novel coronavirus.
- Low-income residents.
- Homeless people.
- Residents without health insurance and/or access to paid time off work.
- People with limited English language proficiency.
- Healthcare, service and part-time workers.
- People of color.
- People with disabilities.
- Incarcerated and returning individuals.
- Other populations emerging with needs as the crisis unfolds.
- Greater Cleveland Food Bank ($300,000) – to support the community with critical food resources.
- MedWish International ($70,000) – to continue to collect and coordinate the distribution of personal protective equipment and other medical supplies, including ventilators and respiratory supplies, for local healthcare providers.
- Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless ($70,000) – to provide emergency lodging for the most at-risk unsheltered individuals before the pandemic reaches its peak.
- Senior Transportation Connection ($60,000) – to continue providing transportation services to ensure food access and medical needs for older adults are addressed.
