Maria Summers is the Chief Customer Success & Revenue Officer for WellLink. Summers is responsible for expanding the company’s presence in the marketplace and advancing its healthcare and business solutions. In this role, she oversees two divisions: WellLink Group Purchasing, which encompasses more than 28,000 member locations, and WellLink Innovations, which focuses on pushing the boundaries of what is possible in healthcare solutions.
Before assuming this role, Summers served as the vice president of WellLink GPO. She successfully grew the GPO business line, built strategic partnerships and ensured members realized their savings potential through the program's supply chain solutions, totaling more than $50 million annually in savings for members. Her daily tasks included delivering the GPO service model to its members, undertaking business development opportunities, managing vendor relations, and directing the business line and its team.
Throughout her 14 years with the organization, she has held several different positions within the GPO department that have given her the ability to grow, learn and understand the business at all levels. She began her tenure handling administrative affairs for the organization in 2011. In 2013, she became the client services account manager, a role that saw her providing service to members across the continuum of care. Summers was elevated to national account manager in January 2015 and was later named senior manager of client services in January 2020. She assumed her role as director of GPO in January 2021.
Summers' passion and knowledge of customer service help her to constantly think of new, efficient ways to deliver superior service and increase membership value. She takes great pride in her team and appreciates their hard work and dedication to ensuring member satisfaction day in and day out.
Summers obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Chancellor University in 2011.
